History of the Self Care Fair
Five years ago, we envisioned a day dedicated to massage therapists...
An opportunity to come together with others in our industry to learn, experience, get inspired, and feel supported.
So we started making lists of everything we wished we could find under one roof—peers and colleagues we'd always looked up to, instructors we always wished we could take classes from, bodywork demonstrations we kept hearing about, vendors who supplied the kind of products we felt good about using...
And then to make the day as value-filled as possible, we began organizing as many CEU class options as we could offer in one day for the least possible cost.
Finally, to make sure the day felt like a fun getaway, we added a bunch of self-care demo treatments (from Tibetan singing bowl therapy, to Ashiatsu Deepfeet Bar Therapy©), arranged a healthy catered lunch, got our favorite industry vendors to give us discounts, and collected all sorts of gifts and giveaways to put into an awesome Swag Bag.

About Us
The Self Care Fair was the brain child of Jamie Hyland-Usher, a massage therapist who began her career over 10 years ago with Massage Envy, and eventually grew into the role of Clinic Manager; today she is the Director of Operations for Massage Envy's entire Washington Region.
With the leadership and support of her colleague and fellow massage therapist Lillian Anderson, together they began reaching out to industry associations, instructors, and vendors, all of whom immediately recognized the importance of a "day of care" for massage therapists and staff.
Little did Jamie and Lillian know the Self Care Fair would continue to grow into the annual event it is today!
